HOLNESS... the director of investigation's reports filed in accordance with section 54(4) will be presented as soon as feasible.
Next Tuesday, the House of Representatives may receive FOUR Integrity Commission (IC) reports on investigations and the director of corruption prosecution's associated decisions.
The IC claimed in a media statement on Wednesday that the findings and decisions were presented to Parliament and signed at 1:50 pm, adhering to its operational process and not disclosing the substance of the report.
The commission claims that hard copies of the reports were turned in in separate envelopes with similar letters on top, written to Juliet Holness, the speaker of the house of representatives, Tom Tavares-Finson, the president of the senate, and Valrie Curtis, the clerk to the houses of parliament.
The commission further stated that the indicated decisions were sent in different envelopes and were addressed in a similar manner. Additionally, a USB flash drive containing electronic PDF copies of all submitted material was supplied.
"The Integrity Commission anticipates that its investigation reports, which were submitted pursuant to and in conformance with Section 54 of the Integrity Commission Act, together with the associated Indicative Rulings, will be tabled in both Houses of Parliament as soon as possible," the release from the commission stated.
Regarding how to handle findings from the Integrity Commission and the Auditor General's Department, members of the House of Representatives have been at odds over the past few weeks.
Holness stated in a recent order that the commission's investigative reports will be tabled as soon as they are received.
"Given the gravity of the issues covered in the reports, the director of investigation's reports filed under Section 54(4) will be presented as soon as the Parliament receives them. The House will need to give it its full attention right away.
"It will be presented to the Integrity Commission Oversight Committee for review and report following its table. Please take notice that all reports from the Integrity Commission will be examined by the officers prior to being tabled, and that the tables will be set as soon as feasible. There will be no attempt to postpone these reports," Holness declared. news,
